Build the lowest five-card 2-7 hand after a single chance to draw.
Single Draw shares the 2-7 ranking system with Triple Draw but changes the number of draws and betting rounds.
Dealer, forced bets & starting cards
Five cards are dealt face down. Players bet, may discard and replace cards once or stand pat, then complete a final betting round.
Forced bets: Small blind and big blind. Deck: Standard 52-card deck.
Betting rounds & legal actions
Betting schedule: 2 betting rounds, 1 draw. When action reaches you, fold, check if no bet is pending, bet, call, or raise within the table's betting limits. An all-in wager is possible when your remaining stack is smaller than a full bet; side pots can result.
Betting limits: Often no-limit; verify the table. Always confirm the posted stake and raise rules before play.
Showdown & pot award
The best 2-7 low wins. Aces are high, and straights and flushes count against a low hand.

7♣ 5♦ 4♠ 3♥ 2♣ beats 8♣ 6♦ 4♠ 3♥ 2♠; the first hand is seven-high and avoids a straight or flush.
The mistake to avoid
Planning for another draw. The second betting round follows the only draw and then comes showdown.
A sound starting approach
One draw makes starting-hand quality and the opponent's draw count especially consequential. Know when a rough made low is worth standing pat.
Venue and format variations
No-limit single draw is common, but limit structures exist. Confirm the venue's betting format and draw procedures.
Game mechanics, tournament procedures, and local house rules are different layers. Poker TDA publishes tournament procedures; the table operator's posted game rules decide the exact version you play.
