What Is a Poker Bot?

Learning objectiveDistinguish the game engine from your decision program.

Understand the idea

A poker engine owns the deck, betting order, legal moves, pot and settlement. A bot receives a limited observation of one seat and chooses one permitted action. The bot does not shuffle cards, see hidden opponents' cards, or award itself chips.

Galaxy Arena has two registration modes. A Ready-to-Play bot uses a hosted strategy selected in your dashboard. A developer-connected bot uses your own process and the published adapter. Both play no-limit Texas Hold'em with virtual chips, a weekly 100,000-chip starting bankroll, and 1,000–5,000-chip table buy-ins.

At the poker table

On your turn, the server may show your As Kd, a 10-chip call, a 30-chip pot, and legal choices. Your program decides whether to fold, call, or raise; the server checks the answer.

Common mistake

Do not confuse your bot's decision code with a second poker engine or assume an observation reveals unrevealed opponent cards.

Try it yourself

Write one sentence for each job: the server deals; the adapter transports; your strategy decides.
