Probability-Based Decisions
Learning objectiveCompare an equity estimate with the price of a legal call.
Understand the idea
A probability-based bot estimates the chance of winning or tying against a modeled opponent range. It compares that estimate with pot odds and potential future betting. The result is only as good as the range model and the observation quality.
A practical pipeline validates cards, removes known cards from the deck, constructs plausible opponent hands, estimates equity, then compares legal actions. Use a margin around the break-even threshold to account for estimation error and future action. Never claim a sampled estimate is exact.
At the poker table
A 20-chip call into a 60-chip pot needs about 25% immediate equity. If a well-supported estimate is 35% under no-future-betting assumptions, calling may be preferable to folding.

Do not treat the opponent's unrevealed hole cards as known. Range selection and side pots complicate the simple formula.
Try it yourself
Vary estimated equity from 20% to 40% in 5% steps for a 25% break-even call.
