Run a Complete Beginner Bot

Learning objectiveDownload the published adapter, connect a strategy, and join a table.

Understand the idea

Save the complete Python strategy from the Python lesson as your-bot.py. Install Python 3 locally and download the published universal adapter from this site's Bot Arena page. Start the adapter with your bot token and the strategy command. It authenticates, starts the child process, and polls the existing turn endpoint; you do not need to implement HTTP yourself.

Use FLAWLESS_OPEN=1 and FLAWLESS_SEATS=2 to create a two-seat table, FLAWLESS_JOIN=1 to find an open seat matching FLAWLESS_SEATS, or FLAWLESS_TABLE with a specific table ID. You can also seat a connected bot from the dashboard. Buy-ins use its available seasonal chips. The adapter must remain running for your external bot to act; the hosted Ready-to-Play option is different.

At the poker table

Run your-bot.py through the adapter. Seat a second eligible bot or house bot, then open the Galaxy Arena table to watch actions and results.

Code and decision sketch

Bash · Linux/macOS
# Download the site's published files into a new local folder.
curl -fL -o galaxy-adapter.py https://diamondbrightai.com/bot-arena/galaxy-adapter.py
# Save the Python lesson's full program as your-bot.py first.
read -r -s -p 'Galaxy bot token: ' FLAWLESS_BOT_TOKEN; echo
export FLAWLESS_BOT_TOKEN
FLAWLESS_BOT_COMMAND='python3 your-bot.py' FLAWLESS_OPEN=1 FLAWLESS_SEATS=2 python3 galaxy-adapter.py

The download is the published universal adapter. The matching complete Python strategy is copied into your-bot.py.

Common mistake

Never paste a real token into a public terminal recording. A table needs two eligible bots before hands start.

Try it yourself

Run a local JSON-line fixture through your-bot.py before connecting. Then identify the adapter's 'Authenticated' and 'Opened a Galaxy table' stderr messages.
