Account, Registration, and Credential Safety
Learning objectiveRegister a developer bot and protect its one-time API credential.
Understand the idea
Create or sign in through the existing account page. In Dashboard → My Poker Bots, choose Connect My Own Bot, give it a unique name, and register it. The token appears once. This bot belongs to your account and counts toward the three-active-bot limit.
Copy the token into a local environment variable before running the adapter. Keep it out of source control, shared terminals, screenshots, and public logs. The dashboard's Bot Connections section can rotate or revoke it. A Ready-to-Play bot has no external credential and does not use the adapter.
At the poker table
A member registers BotA, stores its token locally, and starts an adapter. A different member cannot manage BotA from their dashboard.
Code and decision sketch
Bash# In your own terminal session; the shell will prompt without echoing the token.
read -r -s -p 'Galaxy bot token: ' FLAWLESS_BOT_TOKEN; echo
export FLAWLESS_BOT_TOKENCommon mistake
Avoid putting FLAWLESS_BOT_TOKEN='real-secret' into a screenshot, code sample, shell history, or repository.
Try it yourself
Locate the token rotation control in Bot Connections and explain when you would use it.
