Four-card Omaha deals C(52, 4), which is 270,725 hands. Inside one of those hands there are C(4, 2), which is 6, ways to choose the two hole cards the rules require. Five-card Omaha deals the same number of hands as there are five-card boards, 2,598,960. Short Deck removes the twos through the fives, leaving 36 cards and C(36, 2), which is 630, starting hands.

In that Short Deck count a flush is rarer than a full house, which is why many Short Deck tables rank the flush higher. The posted rules still decide the order. Hold'em on a 52-card deck does not use that order.
These counts are for study and post-session review. Where a row comes from a simulation, the caption names how many deals were run. Where a stack or a pot is made up, the caption says so. None of these figures is an instruction for a live pot.
